Role Overview

As an AI Automation Engineer at Bestow, you'll serve as a catalyst for practical innovation, embedding AI into workflows across engineering, product, sales, legal, finance, and other business functions to eliminate process friction and drive measurable efficiency gains. You'll work cross-functionally to identify high-friction processes, rapidly prototype LLM-powered solutions, and harden them into production-grade systems that achieve organic adoption.

This role combines hands-on engineering with strategic thinking, as you'll build everything from rapid MVPs using LLM APIs to production-grade internal applications with robust backends and proper observability. You'll design RAG architectures, multi-step agent workflows, and automated evaluation frameworks while partnering closely with business operations, data science, and product teams to translate operational intelligence into impactful tools.

Responsibilities

Rapidly prototype MVPs using LLM APIs, agent frameworks, and workflow orchestration platforms to address business bottlenecks
Develop production-grade internal applications with reliable frontends, robust Python backends, and proper observability
Design and implement RAG architectures, multi-step agent workflows, and structured output pipelines
Build automated evaluation frameworks to ensure reliability, accuracy, and safety of AI-generated outputs
Evolve successful prototypes into durable production systems with comprehensive error handling and monitoring
Optimize LLM-powered workflows for cost, latency, and token efficiency
Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders across departments
Host workshops, create playbooks, and train team members on automation tools and best practices
Champion responsible AI practices with appropriate human oversight and safeguards
Document automation patterns and best practices for long-term maintainability

Requirements

5+ years of experience in full-stack development or software engineering with strong Python and JavaScript/TypeScript skills
1+ years of hands-on experience building LLM-backed tools with prompt engineering and API integration
Demonstrated experience with orchestration/agent frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar)
Familiarity with RAG architectures, vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector) and embedding pipelines
Experience with workflow and integration platforms (n8n, Zapier, Make, Temporal, or Airflow)
Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Vertex AI) or comparable AWS/Azure infrastructure
Strong debugging skills across prompts, integrations, APIs, and business logic
Knowledge of data security practices relevant to AI (PII handling, HIPAA, SOC 2)
Experience with BigQuery and advanced SQL for data analysis and pipeline integration
Experience building CI/CD pipelines using Docker, CircleCI, git, and similar tools

Nice to Have

Experience with LLM observability tools (LangSmith, Helicone, Braintrust) and MLOps practices
Background in insurance, fintech, or other regulated industries
