Role Overview

Step into the exciting role of HR AI and Automation Operations Lead, a position that offers a dynamic blend of operational and technical responsibilities within the EOR Operations vertical. You will design and implement intelligent automation systems that connect data across platforms, eliminate manual tasks, and enable scalable, high-performance operations on a global stage.

This role sits at the intersection of HR, technology, and process excellence - ideal for someone passionate about streamlining complex workflows and leveraging AI to drive impact on massive volumes of data, tasks and customer needs. You will be part of a peer group supporting globally distributed HR Operations teams and partner with cross-functional teams in Operations, Product, Design, Engineering and IT.

As a critical partner, you'll enable Remote's operations as the company continues to scale, working with cutting-edge automation and AI technologies to transform how global employment is managed.

Responsibilities

  • Use customer and employee feedback alongside operational data to inform improvements to HR experience, quality, and outcomes
  • Scope and deliver multi-phase initiatives across process redesign, tooling, and change management as Directly Responsible Individual (DRI)
  • Map operational processes, identify bottlenecks, and architect end-to-end automated workflows
  • Build and maintain data pipelines via native connectors or APIs across HRIS, case management, payroll, and other tools
  • Leverage low-code/no-code platforms to prototype and deploy rapid automations
  • Deploy and govern AI tools for document processing, query triage, policy guidance, and data auditing
  • Design multi-agent patterns and governance policies with appropriate human oversight for employment workflows
  • Develop and maintain operational data models to support reporting, audit, compliance and data integrity initiatives
  • Build HR Operations analytics dashboards and reports using SQL and BI tools
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration and support change management for AI & Automation solutions
  • Serve as technical lead for AI & Automation within Operations departments
  • Mentor and guide junior team members to support capability uplift across the department

Requirements

  • Progressive experience in automation, business process optimization, and systems integration
  • Experience in HR Operations or Shared Services across operational contexts with understanding of user experience and operational efficiency
  • Demonstrated experience building automation in regulated or compliance-sensitive environments such as hiring, employment or payroll
  • Strong understanding of sensitive data lifecycle risk and data privacy obligations
  • Extensive hands-on experience with low-code workflow tools (Zapier, Make, Retool, n8n or similar)
  • Comfortable with light scripting (Python, TypeScript, JavaScript) for custom agents, API integrations, and webhooks
  • Excellent communication, influencing, conflict management, and negotiation skills
  • Fluent English writing and speaking abilities
  • Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to operate with strong ownership and autonomy in fast-moving environments
