Role Overview

Join Hexion as Director of AI & Automation Leader and spearhead the enterprise-wide transformation through cutting-edge agentic AI and intelligent automation technologies. In this pivotal role, you'll architect and scale AI capabilities across all business functions while building a culture of innovation and continuous learning throughout the organization.

This position offers the unique opportunity to lead Hexion's automation strategy from conception to execution, working with advanced multi-agent orchestration frameworks and enterprise AI platforms. You'll serve as the enterprise subject matter expert while building and mentoring a high-performing interdisciplinary team focused on delivering measurable business value through intelligent automation solutions.

Responsibilities

Define and drive enterprise agentic AI and automation technology strategy, roadmap, and governance framework
Systematically identify, prioritize, and pipeline automation opportunities across all business functions (R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, Commercial, HR)
Serve as enterprise Subject Matter Expert for agentic AI, process automation, and intelligent workflow platforms
Design and deploy citizen development and automation enablement programs to build internal AI fluency at scale
Lead end-to-end execution of automation initiatives from ideation through deployment and value realization
Define, track, and report automation KPIs including cycle time reduction, cost savings, and adoption rates
Partner with IT, Transformation Office, and Business Units to integrate agentic AI into existing platforms
Build and operationalize responsible AI governance including ethics frameworks and risk management
Establish and lead an Automation Center of Excellence and communities of practice across the enterprise
Build, mentor, and grow a high-performing interdisciplinary AI and automation team

Requirements

10-15 years of progressive experience in AI/ML, intelligent automation, and digital transformation
5+ years in automation leadership roles with proven delivery of large-scale automation programs
Deep expertise in agentic AI architecture and multi-agent orchestration frameworks (LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen)
Comprehensive knowledge of enterprise automation ecosystems including RPA, low-code/no-code, and intelligent process automation
Strong command of AI governance, responsible AI frameworks, and enterprise risk management for AI systems
Proficiency with cloud-native AI platforms (Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, GCP Vertex AI) and integration patterns
Strong data fluency including analytics pipelines, MLOps, and RAG architectures
Financial literacy with ROI modeling and business case development capabilities
Exceptional stakeholder influence, executive communication, and cross-functional leadership skills
Track record leading enterprise AI adoption across multiple business functions in complex, global organizations

Nice to Have

Experience in chemical, industrial manufacturing, or process industries
Familiarity with chemical/process industry operations and associated automation use cases
Hands-on background with agentic AI systems and enterprise technology architecture
Experience delivering quantifiable outcomes in cost reduction, capacity creation, and cycle time improvement
