Role Overview

We are seeking a Marketing Automation Specialist to design, implement, and optimize automated marketing campaigns that drive measurable growth. This role combines technical expertise with creative strategy to manage workflows, lead scoring, segmentation, and reporting across marketing automation platforms.

As a Marketing Automation Specialist, you'll ensure campaigns are efficient, data-driven, and aligned with sales objectives. You'll work at the intersection of marketing and sales, building automated nurture sequences, managing lead databases, and creating dashboards that provide actionable insights to leadership.

This is a remote position working during U.S. client business hours with flexibility for campaign launches and reporting cycles. You'll collaborate across marketing, sales, and operations teams to ensure seamless lead handoffs and optimize the entire customer journey.

Responsibilities

  • Build and optimize automated nurture sequences, drip campaigns, and triggered workflows
  • Implement and refine lead scoring rules to prioritize high-value prospects
  • Design, test, and deploy email campaigns using marketing automation platforms
  • A/B test subject lines, copy, design, and CTAs to improve campaign performance
  • Sync automation platforms with CRMs for seamless lead routing and handoffs
  • Clean and maintain lead databases, removing duplicates and outdated contacts
  • Segment lists by persona, industry, geography, or behavior for targeted campaigns
  • Monitor campaign performance and create dashboards for performance tracking
  • Present insights and actionable recommendations to marketing and sales leadership
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR, CAN-SPAM, and CCPA requirements

Requirements

  • 2+ years experience with marketing automation platforms (HubSpot, Marketo, Pardot, ActiveCampaign)
  • Hands-on experience designing workflows, lead scoring models, and email campaigns
  • Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets for segmentation and reporting
  • Strong understanding of email compliance and data privacy regulations
  • Experience with CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot CRM, Zoho)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a data-first mindset
  • Excellent organizational and detail-oriented approach to testing and optimization
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across marketing, sales, and operations teams

Nice to Have

  • Certification in HubSpot, Marketo, or Pardot
  • Familiarity with multi-touch attribution models
  • Industry background in SaaS, e-commerce, or B2B services
  • Experience integrating automation platforms with third-party apps (Zapier, APIs)
  • Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) for advanced reporting
