Role Overview

The Marketing Automation Product Owner is responsible for defining, prioritizing, and delivering marketing automation capabilities that drive customer engagement and business growth. This role partners closely with marketing, technology, and analytics teams to optimize platforms, improve campaign performance, and ensure seamless customer journeys.

As the voice of the customer and business, you'll translate needs into scalable, data-driven solutions that support McGraw Hill's mission of delivering digital learning experiences that transform education. This remote position offers the opportunity to drive innovation in marketing technology while working with diverse stakeholders across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the marketing automation product roadmap, aligning with business goals and customer experience strategy
  • Gather and prioritize business requirements, translating them into user stories and acceptance criteria for development teams
  • Monitor platform performance, campaign effectiveness, and user adoption metrics
  • Recommend improvements based on data insights and analytics
  • Ensure integration of marketing automation tools with CRM, data platforms, and other systems
  • Stay current on industry trends, tools, and best practices to drive innovation and continuous improvement
  • Manage vendor relationships for marketing automation platforms
  • Coordinate with business and engineering teams across multiple projects

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing automation, product ownership, or marketing technology roles
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience with platforms such as Marketo, SFDC, or similar marketing automation tools
  • Strong understanding of customer journey mapping and data analytics
  • Understanding of end-to-end software development processes and business requirements
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience working with variety of stakeholders including business and engineering teams
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and switch priorities as needed
