Join Kaufland e-commerce as a Senior n8n Business Automation Developer and become part of the tech powerhouse behind Kaufland's international online marketplaces. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of business process automation, leveraging tools like n8n to create reliable and maintainable automation solutions. You'll work with modern AI technologies including LLMs and AI agents, while collaborating across departments to transform how business processes operate. Our Tech & Product Team of 400+ experts is dedicated to creating exceptional customer and seller experiences through innovative technical developments.

This position offers the opportunity to work with cross-functional teams including technical experts, product managers, and business leaders, sharing best practices and enabling self-serve automation across the organization. You'll be part of our Center of Excellence for Automation, driving initiatives that improve our automation and AI platforms.

Responsibilities

Automate complex business processes using tools like n8n in a reliable and maintainable way
Create and optimize AI agents using modern LLMs and related tooling (prompting, retrieval, evaluation/guardrails, RAG)
Partner with business departments to analyze, redesign, and automate processes from discovery to rollout
Collaborate with Center of Excellence for Automation to propose, prioritize, and lead platform improvement initiatives
Work cross-functionally with technical experts, product managers, and business leaders
Share best practices and document automation patterns across the organization
Enable self-serve automation capabilities company-wide
Integrate SaaS tools and internal systems via APIs, webhooks, OAuth, and event-driven patterns

Requirements

Comfortable scripting in JavaScript for n8n Function nodes or equivalent programming experience
Experience with automation/orchestration tools like n8n, Zapier, Make, etc.
Proficiency integrating SaaS tools and internal systems via APIs, webhooks, OAuth, and event-driven patterns
Strong skills with APIs and data manipulation: JSON, REST, SQL for joins/aggregations, and regex
Strong communication skills to explain trade-offs to business and engineering stakeholders
Ability to create concise documentation and playbooks
Fluent in English (C1 level)
Comfortable working in an international environment

Nice to Have

Experience with prompt engineering and building AI Agents
Good German skills (B2 level)
Python programming experience
