Role Overview

Join TD's Global Transaction Banking technology team as a Quality Engineer III focused on AI-driven automation innovation. This senior, hands-on role combines traditional quality engineering excellence with cutting-edge AI applications to revolutionize testing practices and deliver top-tier technology solutions for complex financial services.

You'll own end-to-end automation delivery within an agile pod while pioneering the integration of AI-assisted testing tools and frameworks. This position offers the unique opportunity to shape the future of quality engineering by building reusable automation components, developing internal QE tools, and applying AI techniques to increase testing coverage, speed, and effectiveness.

Working within TD's Global Transaction Banking division, you'll support innovative solutions for large-scale liquidity, payments, and trade finance needs while contributing to the evolution of QE practices through practical AI adoption and framework development.

Responsibilities

Own hands-on automation delivery for agile pods including scope definition, API/UI/integration coverage, and test architecture
Design, build, and maintain scalable automation framework components aligned with enterprise QE standards
Translate functional requirements and architecture into risk-based, automation-first test strategies
Partner with E2E Lead to contribute pod-level scenarios and automation assets for integrated test cycles
Perform deep defect triage and root-cause analysis using logs, traces, and metrics
Introduce and experiment with AI usage in QE, focusing on practical adoption over research
Build AI-assisted QE utilities including intelligent test data generation and automated failure analysis
Integrate automated tests and QE tools into CI/CD pipelines for fast, reliable feedback
Mentor junior and mid-level QE engineers and raise overall engineering standards
Drive quality ownership in agile ceremonies and influence engineering teams on testability

Requirements

BS degree in Computer Science or related Engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience
7-10+ years of Quality Engineering/SDET experience with strong automation and framework development
Proven ability to engineer automation frameworks and internal QE tools beyond just writing tests
Practical experience applying AI-assisted development or testing tools in real delivery environments
Strong understanding of test architecture, CI/CD, and distributed system testing
Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Rest Assured
Experience with Selenium/Playwright, SQL, GitHub, and Azure DevOps
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Jira, X-Ray, and JMeter
Familiarity with Copilot-assisted development and AI-driven test automation tools

Nice to Have

Experience with Langchain and Microsoft Foundry
Knowledge of Claude SDK and LLM-based workflows
Background in contract testing and service virtualization
Experience with Allure/Extent Reporting tools
Understanding of agent-based or prompt-driven approaches for QE tasks
