Role Overview

Join phData's Platform team to build and operate our internal Intelligence Platform that powers Operations, Sales, Delivery, and Finance teams with data, analytics, and AI-driven insights. As a Senior AI Automation Engineer, you'll serve as a hands-on technical partner to business groups across the organization, bringing demonstrated experience in both artificial intelligence and process automation.

This role offers the opportunity to work directly with business stakeholders to understand their challenges, evaluate whether AI, automation, or a combination of both is the right approach, and then design and deliver end-to-end solutions. You'll be instrumental in driving measurable outcomes that create efficiencies and solve real business problems while helping define how phData runs on data and AI.

Working with a modern cloud data and AI stack including Snowflake, AWS, Sigma Computing, Glean, and GitHub Copilot, you'll collaborate with experienced data, analytics, and AI practitioners to expand our internal AI and automation capabilities in a remote-friendly, globally distributed environment.

Responsibilities

Partner with business groups to identify AI/automation opportunities and assess feasibility including viability, data, integration, ROI, and readiness
Design, build, and refine AI-driven applications and agents using RAG, prompt engineering, and agent architectures on platforms like Glean, Microsoft Copilot, and Snowflake Intelligence
Implement RPA, scripting, and low-code/no-code workflows to automate repetitive processes and integrate systems
Write production-grade code for AI and automation solutions with strong documentation, testing, and SDLC discipline
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions and communicate value to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Track and experiment with emerging AI/automation tools and inform leadership through prototypes and production learnings
Operate and optimize automations for reliable, end-to-end execution
Help select and operate secure, governed cloud AI services
Share best practices and align work with priorities through agile planning

Requirements

4-year Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related technical field
5+ years of professional experience developing and deploying automation/RPA solutions and AI/ML solutions in business environments
Experience with enterprise integration patterns, APIs, and connecting disparate business systems
Demonstrated experience across both AI/ML and process automation (RPA, Power Automate, scripting, workflow tools)
Proven ability to work directly with business stakeholders to assess feasibility, gather requirements, and translate business problems into technical solutions
Strong proficiency in software development with Python preferred, including hands-on experience building production-grade applications
Familiarity with Git-based source control, branching strategies, code review, and team collaboration on shared codebases
Experience with agile development methodologies, CI/CD practices, and collaborative development environments
Basic experience deploying cloud services and APIs for AI workloads (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
Experience with generative AI, large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering, and AI agent frameworks/platforms

Nice to Have

Familiarity with data engineering concepts (ETL/ELT, data pipelines, data warehousing)
Experience with Snowflake Data Platform and cloud data ecosystems
Experience with business intelligence tools like Sigma Computing
Experience in the data and AI professional services industry
Experience conducting structured opportunity assessments, business case development, or cost-benefit analysis for technology initiatives
Certifications in AI/ML, RPA, or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Knowledge of data governance, responsible AI principles, and regulatory compliance for sensitive or regulated industries
