Role Overview

Join A1 Telekom Austria Group's International Business Area as a Project Management Intern focused on AI and automation. This role offers hands-on experience in managing core project management office (PMO) activities while designing and implementing cutting-edge automation workflows and AI-supported processes.

You'll work independently on real projects in an international telecommunications environment, collaborating with project managers, stream leads, and stakeholders across multiple markets and technologies. This internship provides the opportunity to take ownership of work packages, drive process improvements, and contribute meaningful value from day one.

The position combines traditional project management responsibilities with innovative AI and automation implementation, making it ideal for someone passionate about leveraging technology to streamline operations and drive efficiency in a dynamic, multicultural setting.

Responsibilities

Lead core PMO activities across ongoing projects, ensuring structure, governance, and smooth delivery
Design and implement automation workflows and AI-supported processes to streamline project operations
Collaborate with core project teams to manage and execute planned milestones and operational tasks
Support Project & Program Managers by tracking actions, performing deep dives, and assessing risks
Own selected work packages and drive them independently to completion
Plan, coordinate, document, and follow up on meetings and workshops
Prepare project reports, updates, and stakeholder presentations
Identify and implement process improvements across project operations

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in business, economics, management, product/tech development, computer science, or related field
Hands-on experience with AI (various LLMs) and automation tools such as n8n, MS Power Automate, Zapier, or Make
Strong IT literacy including proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
Familiarity with collaboration tools like Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps
Solid agile project management capabilities with excellent organizational and planning skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills in German and English (minimum B1/B2)
Keen eye for detail in intercultural environments
