As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll serve as the architectural right hand to the CTO, defining how the platform scales, how AI integrates with the backend, and how infrastructure handles complex, event-driven tasks. This is a ground-floor opportunity where you'll build the nervous system of the product, turning abstract AI concepts into reliable, scalable, and secure software that operates continuously.

You'll architect core backend services primarily using Golang, design APIs and integration logic for rapid iteration, and lead infrastructure decisions using Terraform on AWS. This role offers the unique opportunity to innovate with AI-driven features and distributed architectures in an event-driven systems environment.

Responsibilities

Drive end-to-end design and development of backend services using Golang and Python
Architect and maintain high-scalability, reliable systems for continuous operation
Design and evolve APIs and integration logic for rapid iteration and maintainability
Lead infrastructure-as-code implementation using Terraform on AWS/ECS
Make critical decisions regarding performance, security, and deployment pipelines
Partner with the Founding Team to implement AI-driven product features
Develop and maintain distributed architectures and event-driven systems
Translate business goals into technical realities and architectural solutions
Lead complex projects from concept to deployment with full ownership

Requirements

7+ years of backend engineering experience
Deep proficiency in Golang programming language
Strong grasp of Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform
Extensive experience with AWS cloud services (ECS, Lambda, etc.)
Proven track record delivering large-scale APIs and microservices
Experience with B2B SaaS environments
Familiarity with modern CI/CD pipelines
History of ownership and leading complex technical projects
Ability to thrive in ambiguous seed-stage startup environments

Nice to Have

Proficiency in Python programming language
Experience with Temporal for event-driven systems
Background in distributed architectures
Experience with AI-driven product development
