Role Overview

Join DePuy Synthes, the world's largest orthopaedics-focused company, as they establish their independent corporate identity following separation from Johnson & Johnson. As VP of Data, Analytics, AI & Automation Officer, you'll lead the global strategy and execution for data, analytics, artificial intelligence, and intelligent automation across the entire organization.

This executive role offers the unique opportunity to build the enterprise data foundation from the ground up, enabling data-driven decision making, digital surgery innovation, and AI-enabled business transformation. You'll establish modern data platforms, AI capabilities, and automation frameworks that power innovation across R&D, supply chain, manufacturing, commercial operations, and corporate functions while playing a key role in building the data architecture during the company separation.

This position will establish data as a strategic asset, enabling AI-driven innovation in orthopaedics, predictive supply chains, smart factories, surgeon and hospital insights, improved product quality and safety, and accelerated R&D innovation across the global organization.

Responsibilities

  • Define enterprise data strategy and roadmap for the standalone DePuy Synthes organization
  • Establish enterprise data governance, quality, and stewardship frameworks
  • Build and operate modern data platform and data lakehouse architecture
  • Enable enterprise data integration across ERP, CRM, manufacturing systems, clinical data, and commercial systems
  • Develop and deploy AI/ML capabilities across supply chain optimization, predictive maintenance, demand forecasting, quality analytics, and clinical analytics
  • Lead enterprise automation strategy including robotic process automation, intelligent workflows, AI agents, and operational automation
  • Build advanced analytics capabilities supporting commercial performance, surgeon engagement, hospital analytics, and supply chain optimization
  • Ensure global data governance, regulatory compliance, and ethical AI practices across all data and AI initiatives
  • Build and scale world-class global data, AI, and analytics teams
  • Provide global leadership for Data Engineering, Enterprise Data Governance, Analytics & BI, AI/ML, and Intelligent Automation

Requirements

  • 10+ years experience in data, analytics, or AI leadership roles
  • Experience building enterprise data platforms and AI programs at scale
  • Strong experience leading data transformation in global enterprises
  • Deep expertise in AI/Machine Learning
  • Deep expertise in data platforms and data governance
  • Deep expertise in advanced analytics
  • Proven ability to build and manage global teams
  • Experience with enterprise data integration across multiple systems

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting regulated industries (MedTech, Pharma, Healthcare)
  • Experience supporting enterprise carve-outs or large-scale digital transformation programs
  • Experience with clinical and product analytics
  • Background in manufacturing and supply chain analytics
