Role Overview

Join Zeta Global's Data Cloud Acceleration Team as a Data Automation Engineer, where you'll be part of a lean crew of business-savvy technologists who prototype first and perfect later. Our charter is to uncover opportunity, launch Version 0.1 in days, measure real-world impact, then iterate without ego.

As a Data Automation Engineer, you'll be a builder who can spot repeatable pain points, choose the right tools, wire systems together, and deliver automations that actually get used and create measurable value. You'll work across the modern data stack, building production-ready solutions that span AWS, Azure, and Snowflake while leveraging AI where it makes sense.

This role offers the opportunity to drive measurable outcomes in a fast-paced environment where your GenAI ideas can reach users in weeks, with complete stack freedom and projects ranging from ad-tech optimization to identity resolution to creative signal mining.

Responsibilities

Identify and prioritize automation opportunities by partnering with stakeholders to understand workflows and gather requirements
Design end-to-end automation solutions using serverless jobs, schedulers, cloud-native services, scripts, or AI-assisted workflows
Build and maintain automations spanning AWS, Azure, and Snowflake, integrating with APIs, data pipelines, and internal services
Engineer production-ready automation code using Python, SQL, C#, and TypeScript/JavaScript with proper scheduling, retries, logging, and alerting
Leverage AI integrations for classification, enrichment, validation, or decision-making when it delivers clear benefits
Track usage, validate impact, tune performance, and iterate or retire workflows based on real results
Proactively identify manual steps, brittle processes, or expensive workflows and replace them with automated solutions
Document patterns, share reusable components, and help teams think systematically about automation

Requirements

Experience building automations across cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure) and modern data platforms like Snowflake
Strong hands-on development experience with Python and SQL
Experience with another programming language such as JavaScript or C#
Experience scheduling and orchestrating jobs (serverless functions, Airflow-like tools, cron-based systems, event-driven workflows)
Proven examples of automations that reduced cost, saved time, improved reliability, or unlocked new capabilities
Experience integrating APIs, internal services, and third-party tools
Familiarity with AI-assisted automation (LLMs, classification, extraction, decision support)
Comfortable working end-to-end from requirements through design, build, deploy, and measure phases

Nice to Have

Pragmatic approach to when not to use AI
Experience with rapid prototyping and iterative development
Strong stakeholder communication skills for discussing ROI and technical implementation
Ability to work effectively in ambiguous environments
