Role Overview

As a Solutions Architect for AI & Automation at Circana, you'll bridge the critical gap between business problems and technical solutions, ensuring accurate scoping before development begins. This is a hands-on role where you'll run discovery sessions with operations teams, review AI-generated process maps, and write detailed specifications that developers can execute without follow-up questions.

You'll own the scoping work for a defined portfolio of micro-automation projects and be accountable for the quality of what enters the build pipeline. Working under the guidance of the Sr Director AI/Automation, you'll have genuine technical authority within your domain and handle the structured, high-throughput specification work that keeps delivery moving.

This role offers an unusually fast development environment where you'll encounter diverse process types, integration patterns, and AI implementation challenges, providing accelerated growth opportunities toward a senior architect profile.

Responsibilities

Own scoping and technical specification for a portfolio of micro-automation projects from intake to buildable specification
Facilitate structured process discovery sessions with operations subject matter experts
Identify integration dependencies, data flow requirements, and exception handling complexity before delivery
Apply WSJF prioritization methodology to score automation candidates and flag under-specified submissions
Make independent project-level technical decisions and escalate program-level questions with structured recommendations
Contribute to technical standards library by documenting patterns, integration templates, and anti-patterns
Support AI governance compliance including model approval, prompt design review, and data privacy assessment
Act as technical point of contact for delivery pods working on scoped projects
Support onboarding and development of automation developers through specification reviews and feedback
Contribute to program reporting by flagging technical risks and tracking specification quality metrics

Requirements

3-6 years of experience in solutions architecture, software development, or technical consulting with delivery accountability
Hands-on experience with at least one production automation or AI-enabled workflow
Solid working knowledge of AI tool landscape including LLMs, prompt engineering, RPA platforms, and low-code automation
Ability to produce complete, structured process specifications that developers can execute without follow-up
Strong written communication skills for specifications, risk flags, and escalation notes
Intellectual honesty about uncertainty and ability to clearly distinguish between known and unknown elements
Demonstrated ability to own outcomes reliably without constant guidance

Nice to Have

Experience in data services, analytics operations, CPG, or market research environments
Experience contributing to standards or patterns libraries with documented reusable approaches
Exposure to agile or sprint-based delivery methodologies
Basic data skills in SQL, Python scripting, or BI tooling for independent data flow validation
Direct experience with AI model governance, prompt design, or LLM evaluation in enterprise contexts
